Send the tab you're on to your phone

Got a recipe, a map or an article open in Chrome and need it on your phone? A Current tab tag sends whatever's in Chrome's front tab on your PC to your Android phone. If it's a YouTube video, the time comes along too.

This one needs an NFC tag. There's no button for it in the app yet.

Writing a new tag: a pulsing ripple and "Hold a tag to the back of your phone", set to PC to phone and YouTube

Set it up once

  1. Open My tagsIn Carrio on your phone, go to My tags and press Write a new tag.
  2. Pick PC → Phone, then Current tabSmart works too, but it goes by what's playing, so for pages PC → Phone is the safer pick.
  3. Hold a tag to the back of your phoneKeep it there until it buzzes, then stick it somewhere handy, like the edge of your desk.

And that's it. Tap it whenever there's a page you want on your phone.

For now Current tab lives on tags. The buttons in the app do YouTube.

If you're signed in to Chrome everywhere already, Send to your devices works well. A tag is handy when you'd rather not sign in, or just want it on one tap.

Send to your devices not showing?

Google's help page has the details. These are the usual fixes:

  • Sign in to Chrome with the same Google account on both devices.
  • Turn sync on.
  • Update Chrome on both.
  • Give a new device a little while to show up.

Or skip the sign-in and use a Current tab tag.

Limits

  • It works with Chrome on your PC.
  • It sends the front tab only. If Carrio can't see the page you meant, bring its tab to the front and tap again.
  • It handles normal web pages, not Chrome's own pages (like Settings) or files on your PC.
  • It goes from PC to phone. For the other way, you can share a YouTube video from your phone to Carrio, and it opens on your PC. Other pages are coming.

Give it a go

It's free. You'll need a tag for this one, and any NTAG213 sticker does the job.

Carrio

Carrio moves the YouTube video you're watching from your Windows PC to your Android phone, with a tap or a button. Share a YouTube video to it on your phone, and it opens on your PC. It can send Chrome's front tab to your phone too.
